Easter Egg Hunt

This free family fun event is one of our absolute favorites! We provide over 12,000 eggs for kids to pick up! The Easter Bunny always makes an appearance so be sure to bring your cameras! Lawn games provided! March 23, 2024 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Clayton High School

Flower Fest & Plant Sale

Flower Fest will feature FREE family fun! Bounce Houses, garden crafts, garden tours, face painting, music, and more! April 13th, 202 at the Clayton Community Center.

Run the Branch 5k

Annual 5k - run 3.1 miles along Sam's Branch Greenway! This race starts and finishes at Municipal Park! Save the Date: May 11, 2024

NC Senior Games

Are you 50 or older? Do you know someone that is 50 or older? Get out for some fitness, fun and friendship! For more than three decades, the Johnston County Senior Games has been celebrating athletes in events ranging from the 100-meter dash to cornhole, from pickleball to basket-weaving. Email Joni Hubble-Zeneberg for more information.

Spring Special Needs Dance

This dance is open for children and adults of all ages with physical and/or mental disabilities. Volunteers from Clayton Youth Council and other organizations help make this possible. Refreshments will be provided and support staff is welcome! 

Boo Bash - Halloween Special Needs Dance

Our annual free Halloween dance and trunk or treat for participants with special needs will take place outside under the covered porch at the Clayton Community Center! Wear your favorite costume and come dance the night away! Volunteers from Clayton Youth Council and other organizations help make this possible. Refreshments will be provided and support staff is welcome! October 25, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Clayton Community Center.

Annual Fall Fling

This event is free to the public and offers a variety of games, pumpkin painting, face painting, and more! Hop on a bail of hay and enjoy our interactive, non-scary, storybook ride through the woods! Tour the community garden, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the day! October 19th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Clayton Community Center. 

Trick or Treat Main Street

Trick or Treat in Downtown Clayton! This holiday tradition is designed for those with little legs to put on their costume and take over Main Street… marching down the street and sidewalks where they are greeted by local business owners waiting to hand them goodies and treats. Once you've filled up your bags, stop by Town Square to snap a festive picture and play some games! Meet in Horne Square to get things started - 348 E Main St.

October 31st from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Downtown Clayton - 348 E Main St. 

Merry Municipal - 

Join us out at Municipal Park for a FREE walk through light display! Lights will be on daily from dusk till 10:00 p.m. throughout the month of December! Join Clayton Parks and Recreation staff at Merry Municipal on December 21st from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for hot cocoa, candy canes, Santa, and SNOW!
