The
Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums exists - in
part, to provide service to the community of public safety officers
in North Carolina’s capital region.
If
you would like to incorporate the Pipes and Drums in to an
official
public safety agency function, contact Band Manager
Mike Bishop (bishop@forourfallen.org), or call at 919.919.524.3392.
As examples, consider the band for:
-
Academy
graduation ceremonies
-
Agency promotion
ceremonies and awards ceremonies
-
Opening
ceremonies for public safety conferences
-
Line of duty
funerals
We
will do our best to serve these functions without charge.
Donations and gratuities are always appreciated.
HIRE THE BAND!
Wake and
District Pipes and Drums is a band which virtually
appeared from nowhere in 2006 and in short order has
established themselves as a serious Public Safety
Band. From Solo pipers for weddings, funerals,
and any number of celebratory events, to mini
bands or even the full band for your St. Pat's party
or company event we are available. We are a growing band drawing
membership from the entire public safety service as
well as members from the community, and can serve
your piping and traditional music needs.
Want to join?
The rank
and file of our organization are from numerous
police, fire and rescue agencies in the Carolinas.
In addition to those public safety members we are
proud to be one of a handful of public safety bands
which allow family members and friends to join our
ranks (those who support public safety).
Wake &
District is certainly open to new membership.
Most incoming members are complete beginning
students interested in learning the great Highland
bagpipes, Scottish snare drum, flourishing and
rhythm tenor drum, or bass drum.
Wake & District Public Safety Pipes & Drums
also welcomes
individuals who already play pipes or drums and are
interested in joining a success-driven group of
like-minded musicians. While the directive staff
does keep their eyes out for talented players, they
cannot read minds. If you wish to become a part
of our group – do not hesitate to ask. At
the earliest convenience, a meeting will be arranged
to assess your needs as a player and your future
with the W&D. An instructor will then be
assigned to help you to develop your musical talent
and encourage you to achieve your full potential as
a contributing member of the band.

interested in joining our band please contact:
